- Stanza 1 (refrain)
suno jī bhairava lāḍile, kara joḍa kara vinatī karūṃ।kṛpā tumhārī cāhiye, maiṃ dhyāna tumhārā hī dharūṃ॥maiṃ caraṇa chūtā āpake, arjī merī suna suna lījiye।maiṃ hūṃ mati kā manda merī, kuch madada to kījiye॥mahimā tumhārī bahuta kuch, thoḍī sī maiṃ varṇana karūṃ॥suno jī bhairava lāḍile, kara joḍa kara vinatī karūṃ॥
Listen, dear Bhairav, I fold my hands and make this plea — grant me your grace, so that I may hold you alone in meditation. I touch your feet; please hear my petition. I am dull of understanding — grant me some help. Your greatness is so vast that I can describe only a small part of it. Listen, dear Bhairav, I fold my hands and make this plea.
- Stanza 2
karate savārī śvāna kī, cārõ diśā meṃ rājya hai।jitane bhūta aura preta, sabake āpa hī saratāja haiṃ॥hathiyāra haiṃ jo āpake, unakā kyā varṇana karūṃ॥suno jī bhairava lāḍile, kara joḍa kara vinatī karūṃ॥
You ride upon a dog, and your rule extends across all four directions; over every ghost and spirit, you alone are the sovereign. As for the weapons you bear, how could I even describe them? Listen, dear Bhairav, I fold my hands and make this plea.
- Stanza 3
mātājī ke sāmane tuma, nṛtya bhī karate ho sadā।gā gā ke guṇa anuvāda se, unako rijhāte ho sadā॥eka sāṅkalī hai āpakī, tārīf usakī kyā karūṃ॥suno jī bhairava lāḍile, kara joḍa kara vinatī karūṃ॥
Before the Mother, you always dance; singing her praises again and again, you keep her ever pleased. You bear a single chain — how could I even praise it enough? Listen, dear Bhairav, I fold my hands and make this plea.
- Stanza 4
bahuta sī mahimā tumhārī, mehaṃdīpura saranāma hai।āte jagata ke yātrī, bajaraṅga kā sthāna hai॥śrī pretarāja sarakāra ke, maiṃ śīśa caraṇõ meṃ dharūṃ॥suno jī bhairava lāḍile, kara joḍa kara vinatī karūṃ॥
Your glory has made Mehandipur renowned; pilgrims from all over come here, to this abode of Bajrang (Hanuman). At the feet of Shri Pretraj Sarkar, I bow my head. Listen, dear Bhairav, I fold my hands and make this plea.
- Stanza 5
niśadina tumhāre khela se, mātājī khuśa hotī rahẽ।sara para tumhāre hātha rakhakara, āśīrvāda detī rahẽ॥kara joḍa kara vinatī karūṃ, aru śīśa caraṇõ meṃ dharūṃ॥suno jī bhairava lāḍile, kara joḍa kara vinatī karūṃ॥
Day and night, may the Mother remain pleased by your ways; may she keep her hand upon your head and continue her blessing. I fold my hands and make this plea, and bow my head at your feet. Listen, dear Bhairav, I fold my hands and make this plea.
Overview
Suno Ji Bhairav Ladile is a five-stanza Hindi aarti addressed to Bhairava in his form as Bhairo Baba, the guardian deity venerated at Mehandipur Balaji Dham in Rajasthan. Sung with folded hands, it asks for Bhairava’s grace and protection, describes his dog vahana and his rule over spirits and ghosts, and situates him within the temple’s divine court alongside Balaji (Hanuman) and Pretraj Sarkar.
Origin and source
This aarti belongs to the devotional tradition of Mehandipur Balaji Dham, a temple in Rajasthan’s Dausa district where three deities are worshipped together: Balaji, a form of Hanuman; Bhairo Baba; and Pretraj Sarkar, understood as the divine administrator of justice. The verses name Mehandipur directly and describe Bhairava’s dog mount, his weapons, and his devotion before “Mataji” (the Mother) — details specific to this regional cult rather than the wider Puranic account that identifies Bhairava as a form taken by Shiva. Because these verses do not make that identification themselves, this page does not cross-link Bhairava to Shiva here, unlike the Bhairav Chalisa and Batuk Bhairav Chalisa, whose own texts state the connection explicitly.
How it is recited
Suno Ji Bhairav Ladile is closely associated with Bhairav Ashtami, when devotees of Bhairava observe fasts and special worship. It is also sung daily by pilgrims and resident devotees at Mehandipur Balaji Dham as part of the temple’s ongoing aarti cycle, typically alongside the Bhairav Chalisa and aartis to Balaji and Pretraj Sarkar.
