JaapDaily launches a free, ad-free japa counter for iPhone, Android and Apple Watch
A 108-bead digital mala with 42 naams, 34 mantras and 20 languages, built after its founder kept losing count of her own mala. No ads, no subscription, no account required.
LYNNWOOD, Wash., Jun 17, 2026 — JaapDaily, a free japa counter for iPhone, Android and Apple Watch, is available today on the App Store, with the Android release following on 23 June. The app counts mantra and naam repetitions on a 108-bead digital mala, and carries no advertising, no subscription and no paid tier.
Founder Dishika Singh built it after losing count during her own daily practice. “I lost count of my mala 30 times before I built this,” said Singh. “JaapDaily exists as seva — selfless service. It will always be free, with no ads and no subscription, because a spiritual practice shouldn't sit behind a paywall.”
The app ships with 42 naams and 34 mantras across the Vaishnav, Shaiva, Shakta, Universal and Gujarati traditions, and an interface in 20 languages. The naam and mantra text itself is never translated or machine-transliterated: it is stored and displayed exactly as written in its own script, whatever language the interface is set to.
Counting works by tapping the bead ring, or with the phone's volume buttons for chanting with the eyes closed. A standalone Apple Watch app counts on the wrist, including with the Digital Crown, and syncs when the two devices reconnect. Home-screen widgets show the day's count, and an Anushthan mode runs a second counter alongside the first for a fixed-count vow.
Nothing requires an account. The app works fully offline, and counts stay on the device unless the user chooses to sign in, in which case practice syncs across their own devices and nothing else.
JaapDaily is available on the App Store and Google Play, and at jaapdaily.com.
